Cub Scout Pack 182

Welcome to the Tiger Cub Den

Welcome to the Tiger Cub den.  We have eight new Tiger Cubs in the pack this year.  Our motto is Search, Discover and Share.  In September at our first den meeting, we learned about each other and the fun things we are going to do this year.

In October at our second den meeting, we took a virtual hike and on this hike our parents suffered a number of injuries requiring first aid.  Who knew they were so accident-prone?  Fortunately, we were prepared to treat their injuries and safely returned to camp.

In November, we learned about flight and the Wright brothers in anticipation of going to the Council Camporee at the Sun 'N fun Museum in Lakeland.  The 100th anniversary of the Wright brothers' first successful powered flight is coming up soon.

In December, we learned about healthy living and nutrition.  We also learned how to read the label on food items to find out what is in them.  We continue to work on our achievements at home as well.

In January we learned about how to be safe and take care of ourselves.  Akela Jay gave an inspired talk about using the buddy system while we are at Cub Scout events.  We also learned what to do in the event of a fire.  We learned where we should go in the event of a fire and how we should protect ourselves if we were to be trapped in a fire.  We also learned how a fireman tries to search for us if we were trapped by a fire in our bedroom.  We are planning to go to our local fire station soon.

In February we had the Tiger Time 2004 event at Lowry Park.  There were all kinds of activities for us to do.  We completed many achievements towards our Tiger badge.  And we had a lot of fun.  Check out the pictures on the left.

In April we went to the Temple Terrace Fire Station.  We learned how to be safe and take care of ourselves in the event of a fire.  We also got to check out fire truck #11.  It was loaded with all kinds of equipment.  We even got to sit in the driver's seat and steer the fire truck.  It was an awesome experience.  We thanked the fire men for their time and effort.
