Welcome to the Webelos den. We are a large group with thirteen Webelos scouts.
Four of us will cross-over to Boy Scouts this Spring. We have a lot of work to do
in preparation for our cross-over. We have been working very hard on our Webelos
and Arrow of Light achievements. Below are some pictures of our activities.

In January, our den attended the Webelos Woods event held at Scout Park
in Temple Terrace on January 10. The weather was a little cold, but
we came prepared. The Boy Scouts from Troop 84 showed us how to safely
use an axe and a handsaw. There are several pictures of us in action.
Some of the Moms even took a try. Boy Scouts from Troop 188 showed us how to
start a fire. We already knew how, but it didn't hurt to review the safe way
to do it. Boy Scouts from Troop 120 reviewed with us how to tie several knots.
Finally, we got to have hot chocolate and a hot dog. This was nice because we
were getting cold. This was a great event for us and we learned a lot.
We also got to meet Boy Scouts from neighboring Boy Scout Troops.
Check out the pictures on the left.

In April, our den took a 5 mile hike one fine morning on one of the trails off of Morris
Bridge Road. The temperature was cool when we started, but warmed up nicely as
midday approached. We were able to complete the 5 miles despite some
mosquito attacks and trail confusion. Pictures were taken of us in action.
One of the Moms plus several Dads even joined us. We had a good time and we learned
not to panic when our leaders lose their way. Fortunately, Akela Mike Manka brought
his compass so we knew we were in good hands. Check out the pictures on the right.
